We should be wary of outside agencies taking over artist marketing while keeping the shop/artist in the dark. I've learned that a good marketing system is like a perfectly tuned tattoo machine, multiple parts doing different jobs, all running in unison. If you don't understand how those parts work together, you'll never know if your budget is actually doing its job.

The way I see it, shops need to level up and either become their own marketing company, or at minimum know enough to hold the people they hire accountable.
